Leigh Martin is a remarkable Massage Therapist whose life journey has been deeply rooted in North Carolina, a place she has called home for most of her life. Born and raised in Burlington, Leigh resides in the very house where her mother grew up, creating a connection to her family history that spans four generations on her father’s side. Her strong bond with her significant other, whom she has known since childhood, and their cherished daughter, are at the heart of her life.
Leigh’s path to becoming a Massage Therapist was not a straight line. Initially, she dreamed of becoming an architect, sketching intricate floor plans as a young child. Later, her fascination with flying took hold during her teenage years. However, it was a transformative experience during her junior year of high school when a massage provided her with profound relief from pain and tension. This pivotal moment ignited her true calling, driving her to become a Massage Therapist, determined to offer others the same relief and well-being she had found.
Leigh Martin derives immense fulfillment from her work, particularly when she can alleviate someone’s pain and enhance their quality of life. Among her favorite treatments is Ashi-Thai, a fusion of Ashiatsu and Thai massage, which prioritizes stretching for overall well-being. She also takes pleasure in providing face, scalp, and neck massages.
After a brief sojourn in Miami, Florida, Leigh Anne returned to North Carolina in 2010, became a licensed Massage Therapist in 2011 inspired by her travels and experiences to cultivate a sanctuary like no other.
In her own life, Leigh practices what she preaches when it comes to self-care. Regular sessions in an infrared sauna, massages, facials, and yoga/stretching are essential parts of her routine. Beyond her work and self-care rituals, she is a woman of diverse interests, fueled by her family’s gardening background that instilled a love for plants and the art of repurposing through woodworking and crafting. Antique festivals, painting, and a thirst for knowledge, especially about the unknown, keep her curiosity alive.
The color green, symbolizing growth, perfectly mirrors Leigh’s mindset of constant improvement and progress.
Leigh’s life has been enriched by travel, with Sequoia National Forest holding a special place in her heart. She describes it as a magical destination. Yet, her ultimate dream is to explore all of Africa. She envisions going on a safari, volunteering at wildlife rescue centers, building water wells with Joyce Meyer foundation, witnessing the majestic pyramids and iconic Baobab Trees.
Leigh’s vision for Heart + Sole is to provide a unique and transformative experience, distinct from traditional spas. The ambiance, moody and inviting, transports clients to another world. Her unwavering commitment to quality shapes her approach to recruiting practitioners and service providers, allowing the right people and opportunities to naturally gravitate toward her. Presently, Heart + Sole boasts six full-time massage therapists, a full-time nail technician with additional expertise, a Holistic Japanese Head Spa therapist, and a Polarity Therapist. Leigh plans to make subtle, yearly modifications to Heart + Sole, continuously enhancing and bringing more joy to every client’s experience.
